Ellen Weber is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. Her academic interests include emergency department utilisation and operations, quality improvement, informatics and peer review in publication. She is a member of the Royal College of Emergency Physicians, American College of Emergency Physicians and a former board member of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine. Prof Weber is also a visiting professor at Muhimbili National Hospital in Tanzania, teaching research methods and mentors trainees and faculty in research throughout Tanzania. She is a founding author and instructor of the African Federation for Emergency Medicine’s research course.

Dr Sarah Edwards is an Emergency Medicine registrar working in the East Midlands. She is the Social Media Editor and an Associate Editor for the Emergency Medical Journal. She is the Honorary Secretary and a Director for The Association of the Study of Medical Education (ASME). She currently works as a tutor/lecturer for the Medical Education Masters at Sunderland University and. Recently she has become the Clinical Chair for the eLearning committee in the Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM). Her research interests include technology enhanced learning, social media education and game-based education. With a specific interest in qualitative research methodology.

Dr. Kirsty Challen (@KirstyChallen) is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine and EM Research Lead at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust. She trained in North West England, acquiring a History of Medicine BSc, a PhD in Health Services Research, an anaesthetist husband and four children along the way. She is Chair of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine Gender Equity Committee, and involved with the RCEM Public Health and Informatics groups. Kirsty regards her inner toddler as a great asset to medicine and continues to ask “but WHY?” She is faculty for the Skeptics Guide to Emergency Medicine and creates the infographics called #PaperinaPic. When not at work she is happiest out running or skiing on a mountain.

Shammi is a Sheffield based Emergency Physician and Hon Professor of emergency medicine, who is also accredited in paediatric emergency medicine. His research interests are Artificial Intelligence, EM Safety, Diagnostics and Urgent Care Health Service Delivery. He is the Trauma and Emergency Care Lead for the NIHR (Y&H) RDN and sits on the RCEM’s Safer Care and Quality committees. Shammi also works in an expert advisory capacity with NICE, MBRRACE-UK, the GMC and NHS Pathways (NHS England). In his free time, he enjoys gardening, DIY and coaching girls’ football.

Professor Jason Smith joined the Royal Navy and qualified in medicine from Newcastle University in 1992. He underwent specialist training in emergency medicine in London, Plymouth and Sydney; he was appointed as a Consultant at University Hospitals Plymouth, where he still undertakes his clinical practice.
He is an Honorary Professor at the University of Plymouth and is the Emeritus Defence Professor of Emergency Medicine.
He was previously the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Royal Naval Medical Service and is currently an Associate Editor for both the Emergency Medicine Journal and BMJ Military Health.

Gibbons, MD, FAAEM, FACEP, FAIUM is a graduate of Temple University SOM, where he completed his EM residency, serving as chief resident, followed by an Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography fellowship. Currently, Dr. Gibbons is an Associate Professor, the Assistant Dean of Faculty Development, and Director of Ultrasound in UME. He was appointed the inaugural John M. Daly, MD, & Measey Foundation Endowed Professor in Medical Education Innovation for developing a longitudinal ultrasound curriculum. Dr. Gibbons has published over fifty peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters. He has given more than one hundred regional, national, and international presentations.

He is the former Trainee Emergency Research Network Fellow (2020-2022).
