Emergency Medicine Journal is an international peer reviewed journal covering pre-hospital and hospital emergency medicine, and critical care. The journal publishes original research, evidence-based reviews and commentaries on resuscitation, trauma, minor injuries, disaster preparedness and response, toxicology, acute medical and paediatric emergencies, diagnostic testing, teaching, clinical operations, decision making and reflections on clinical practice. The journal is aimed at doctors, nurses, paramedics and ambulance staff.

BMJ Group and the Royal College of Emergency Medicine seek an ambitious and dynamic Editor-in-Chief for Emergency Medicine Journal from 2026.

The successful candidate should have stature in the field of emergency medicine and a distinguished publication record, as well as experience of working in a senior editorial role on an academic journal.

International and joint applications are encouraged.
